I have avoided writing about certain topics because these issues can be very sensitive to some people and I'm not one to want to stir things up, especially when people can be so cruel when it comes to a difference in opinions. However, I'm feeling God pull me more and more to speak out on a few things and I've avoided them long enough. It's time to flip some tables.
This most recent election here in America has brought out the ugliest sides of people. Politically, I am registered as 'Independent' meaning, I fall in the middle; but spiritually I know exactly what side I stand on. I did not vote this time and before you come for me, my one vote would not have mattered either way based on the numbers I saw. I wouldn't have been able to live with myself voting in either direction because I saw two broken people fighting for the same thing and the way it was reveled to me; neither side is going to save us. I am not trying to speak ill of either party or the individuals associated with them, I simply serve the Lord; that's who will save us.
Be it as it may, we have the president we have. Voted in by the people and sworn into office. It is what it is.
We all know by now he's in there signing orders left and right and laws are being placed and all kinds of things are happening. Whatever the changes may be and what ever happens God is still in control. Now I'm not saying that everything he's doing/saying is something I agree with. I also have my own opinions. We should accept though, we can't control what the government does, but we can control our own actions.
I hear God saying; "It's not the government that will be the biggest problem, it's the people." Yes, our US Government is doing/saying some pretty shady things and there are a lot of questions and concerns in the air from all sides, with good reason. But the people!! The behaviors, the words, the misinformed fear mongering is absolutely despicable. Some of you should down right be ashamed of yourselves. I'm noticing there are a lot of Christians who are conservative or republican when it comes to politics and that's well within your right, no judgement here, same goes for those who identify themselves to be liberal or more progressive, but when you are being nasty to another human being based on the color of their skin and saying some of the most egregious things I've seen online lately, shame on you! No human on GOD's earth deserves to be treated like an animal, none of us deserve to be discriminated against.
I've also noticed that there is an influx of false information being passed around installing fear.
We are living in times that we've dreaded and it's stressful on everyone, but where is the humanity? Where is the love for one another that Christ commanded. That part was so important- "Love thy neighbor as thyself" Matthew 22:39 and Leviticus 19:18. Let us not forget that, you people with hardened hearts. I pray the Lord has mercy on you and you change your foul ways of treating others as if they're beneath you.
For those who are frightened during this time, please remember these three very powerful verses.
''For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.'' Ephesians 6:12. There are some very ugly spirits roaming this earth and they'll try to tear you down and make you fear all kinds of things, but at the end of the day Jesus is King and he holds the victory! Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight" Trust in the Lord and pray to him, I promise he hears you. And last but not least- Isaiah 54:17 "No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from ME. Says the Lord" No matter what, God's got you! He doesn't say the weapon won't be formed-but he said it will NOT prosper!
Please brothers and sisters, let us love one another as Christ loves us. Stop all this hate and fear mongering. Show grace to others the way God shows it to you.

Father God,
Thank you for allowing us here in the US to live in a democracy, as we know that there are other countries that don't have that privilege. Lord, I pray for a hedge of protection over my brothers and sisters who are currently being discriminated against, bullied, and abused. Forgive those who are doing them wrong and please change their hearts and minds in the way that only you can. Father in the name of your son Jesus Christ I pray that we as your children can bring more people to you, standing together united and we can do away with all of the division. I understand that we have the right to our opinions and sometimes those opinions may differ, but please Lord bring us to a point were we can all agree on our morals, that all humans, no matter the color of their skin, the language they speak, or where they were born are your children.
In Jesus name I pray,
Amen.
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God” Matthew 5:9
